to Patty
In the dark ages
—I read it in a book—
there was very little art.
In that book,
an illustration:
A broad necklet
made of some
milky substance
and from it
a golden pendant
with twin stones
of sapphire shone.
Now,
here you stand
to go
In your white
leather coat,
your hair
—and your eyes—
out of a dun night
glow
